The Head Prefects of OKI Wattala

OKI International School Wattala, the parent school, was inaugurated by Late Chairman Mr Nimal Saparamadu in September 1998 with only 2 teachers and 14 students.  Over the years it has grown to more than 150 teachers and 1800+ students attending the main school, the total student population in the entire branch network at Kandana, Kiribathgoda, Biyagama, Negombo and Kotikawatta being over 4000 with a tutorial staff exceeding 300.

How does your school choose the head prefect?
Our school firstly selects prefects through an aptitude test and those who get the highest marks are called for the first interview followed by the second interview with the Network Principal. The Board of Directors, Network Principal, Head of Academics and some senior co-ordinators get together and choose the Head Boy, Head Girl and Deputies.

How did you feel when your name was announced as the head prefect?

Amanda : I felt really blessed and honoured to have been given that opportunity and I cannot really express my happiness in words.

Sajeth : I was on cloud nine and felt really fortunate. This had been the biggest dream in my school career from the moment I was chosen as a junior prefect in 2012.  I was thankful that my hard work has paid off.
