Euphoria 2018 – Talent Competition at Ladies’ College
-Music tends to unify people in a way nothing else does. -
A talent show can be a great way to showcase young adults aged between 13 and 30 years, build their confidence, and bring communities together. The BTEC Hospitality and Travel & Tourism students of the British Advanced Levels section of Ladies’ College are organizing a talent show titled ‘Euphoria’ as part of their coursework and examination requirement. This gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in organizing and managing an event.
"This is one of the first times we, as a group, planned to organise an event of this scale, and we don’t want it to be just another event. If the performers and the audience are able to enjoy it, up until the last few moments of the night, we’ll know that we accomplished something.” – Kavya Seneviratne Grade 14
The show is designed to focus on high- energy, theatrical display of amateur talent drawn from some of the leading schools and universities in Colombo. It is a fun-filled event that would appeal to middle, senior school and college students.
The entertainment event is scheduled to take place in the back garden of Ladies’ College, Colombo. The performance categories will include dancing (of upbeat varieties), singing, and beat-boxing, where young competitors can either perform a solo act on stage or choose to compete as a group/ band.
"We want it to be something memorable. A breathtaking experience with lots of energy and a theatrical display of diverse talents. Basically, the building blocks of every great Disney movie."- Chloe Gnanakan Grade 12
