26 year old Thejitha Gunasekara performs under the stage name “Ditcher” in the Sri Lankan Music Industry. He started rapping at the age of 12 and it was for fun and as a hobby which then continued to develop into a part-time career. He was initially listening to music on a VHS of his dads which had music from Michael Jackson, BoneyM and Elvis Presley etc. Later in high school he was handed over an album of Ice Cube that got him into listening to Hiphop. He started off with a band with a couple of his friends and then he moved on as an solo artist at the age of 14, later he joined with the band “dBnets” and he continued his music life with them which was his foundation. In Ditcher’s own words he refers to the band as “His Family”. He learned a lot about music from Sandun and Mithila who were very senior members of the band and he learned a lot about rapping from his fellow rapper “SwiTchBlade”. Later in the year 2008 he started working on his first official studio album “The Home Work”.
